Wire Sawing
Separation and demolition of concrete, reinforced concrete and natural stone
Wire sawing is a cutting method in which a steel cable fitted with diamond-coated beads is looped around the structural element to be cut, or threaded through pre-drilled pilot holes to form the loop. Once in position, the wire is driven at high speed, and the diamonds grind through the material by abrasion rather than impact.
The method is particularly well suited to separating large, thick reinforced concrete elements — such as bridge piers, columns or heavy slabs — with low vibration, low noise and a high degree of control. Because no explosives are involved, it allows controlled demolition and large-section removal without damaging the surrounding structure.
