Core Drilling
Wall and ceiling openings for structural installations
Core drilling works by rotating a hollow, diamond-tipped drill bit into concrete or reinforced concrete to extract a cylindrical plug of material, known as the core. Because it cuts abrasively rather than through impact, it produces clean, round, smooth-edged holes without the vibration damage associated with percussion-based methods.
Water-cooled diamond bits can cut effectively through reinforced concrete, which is why the method is used for a wide range of purposes: plumbing, ventilation and electrical penetrations, anchor holes, and structural sampling. Scanning the surface for rebar and embedded utility lines before drilling begins is an important step for a safe, accurate result.
